(Webpage) I am interested in the computational basis of social cognition: how do people represent, learn from, and work with one another? And how do we do so flexibly despite limited mental resources? These days, my focus is mainly on using theoretical and agent-based models to test ideas about cultural evolution, cooperation, and their interaction.

I am interested in studying this question using the formalism of reinforcement learning: To understand why and when it is useful for artificial, reward-maximising agents to reason about and refer to their self, and how they might do so in practice.
